Buy Red Buckeye online. Red Buckeye, also known as Texas Red Buckeye, produces very showy clusters of bright red flowers in early to late spring. The leaves are quite unique and grow as 5 leaflet palmately compound, which emerge a bronzy red and later turn dark green. Best grown as a small multi-stem tree. Can grow quite large if left unpruned. It grows rather slowly so pruning once a year in spring after blooming works well to keep in bounds. Once mature, large, rounded, brown seed is produced. A very unique plant for any shade garden!

Family: Sapindaceae · Common Name: Buckeye / Horsechestnut

FREE with every plant purchased:

  • A pre-applied, pre-measured amount of time release fertilizer that keeps your plant well nourished for up to one year.
  • Pre-hydrated Hydro-Gels are included in the top of each container to use when planting as they help retain soil moisture, and plants will establish more quickly with less transplant shock. Plants will also survive drought-like conditions and accidental missed waterings better.
