If you've been considering placing an order, now is the best time to reserve the varieties you want while they're still available. Ordering today ensures your plants are set aside for you and shipped when conditions are ideal for successful planting.

At Sooner Plant Farm, our commitment is simple: deliver healthy, vigorous plants at the right time for long-term success. While it may be tempting to plant immediately, periods of extreme summer heat are one of the most challenging times for newly transplanted plants.

Shipping during excessive heat can expose plants to temperatures inside delivery trucks and shipping facilities that are far higher than the outside air temperature. This added stress can reduce a plant's ability to establish a healthy root system after planting, even when watered properly.

For that reason, whenever temperatures exceed 90°F at our nursery, enroute, or in your delivery area, we may temporarily delay shipments until weather conditions improve. This decision is based on decades of horticultural experience and is made solely to give your plants the greatest opportunity for long-term success.

Our Recommendation:

During checkout, we strongly encourage selecting:

"PLEASE SHIP FALL 2026, AT THE PROPER TIME FOR MY ZONE."

This allows our horticultural staff to schedule your shipment when temperatures are appropriate for your location. Weather permitting, we currently anticipate resuming normal shipping around early September, although this may vary depending on conditions in Oklahoma and throughout the destination region.

If You Request Immediate Shipment

We understand that some customers may still wish to receive their order immediately. We will gladly honor that request.

However, because shipping during periods of excessive heat significantly increases the risk of plant stress and transit damage, all guarantees covering the condition of the plants upon arrival, as well as any extended plant guarantees, will be void on orders shipped against our recommendation. Orders selecting the "SHIP NOW" option will be documented accordingly.

Because these orders are processed immediately, cancellation requests submitted after payment has been processed may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 35%.
