Zelkova is very easy to grow and adapts to most conditions. Feed once a year with a slow release fertilizer.

I've been growing my oldest of two of these, a good large start, for two years now in a good location with no problems. It seems to be a trustworthy plant, grows at a medium rate, and is definitely fastigiate, as advertised. Japanese beetles, very prevalent here, don't seem to bother it much. The attractive fall foliage, for which they're known, hasn't been that pronounced yet but it's still young.
