Ulmus - Mar 10, 2013
Wisconsin (Hardiness Zone: 3)
I've been growing Ulmus parvifolia 'Allee' here in Central Wisconsin for
5 years now with no Winter dieback. It performs well in dry sandy soil, however, I've been pushing them with additional water and fertilizer. They were only 3' tall with a 3/4" trunk diameter. After 5 years of growth, they are now 12' tall with a 2" caliper.
Very nice tree. I am a horticulturist by trade and I highly recommend it!
