A sport from the variety 'Dazzler' with upright facing florets are deep red and flare out like trumpets. Topped with bright yellow at the ends, flowers transitions from orange to yellow. Blooms mid-May through September.

Gaillardia is somewhat easy to grow and adapts to most conditions; however, avoid soils that are heavy in clay and moisture. Feed once a year with a slow release fertilizer.

I got three varieties from a top rated "Dave's garden" on-line nusery. Weather was extremely dry and hot all summer and plants small but they took off and FAnfare is still throwing out blooms. The more varieties, the better

Absolutely terrific. I bought one about two years ago at Lowes, late in the season so I knew what the bloom looked like. I didn't, however, realize what a prize I had until later in the year. When the flower loses it's petals the seed ball resembles a fluffy pom pom that is just as pretty as the full flower was. Due to this fact, you can just let it grow and do its thing and not worry about pinching, dead heading or anything.
