It features lavender flowers contrast with deep green foliage; and it also has very low seed set which is a big bonus when planting in beds with other plants. Note: Althea is considered a woody shrub or tree and will not die back to the ground in winter like hardy hibiscus.

This one is very hardy here in zone 6A, but ours is slow to grow due to the deer, who seem to like it too.
