THIS LOW GROWING SHRUB IS PLANTED IN AN AREA THAT RECEIVES FULL MORNING SUN AND A BIT OF LATE AFTERNOON SUN. IT HAS DOUBLED IT'S SIZE FROM PURCHASE. I PLANTED THIS IN LATE FALL (NOVEMBER). SPRING WAS PROMISING, THIS YEAR IT HAS DOUBLED IN SIZE. MY ONLY REASON FOR A 4 RATING IS THAT IT DOES TEND TO HAVE A BIT OF LEAF BURN IN THE HEIGHT OF SUMMER HEAT. THE COLOR HOLDS THRU THE SUMMER HEAT, GIVING IT A GOOD CONTRAST TO THE A.palmatum "EMPEROR" GROWING ABOVE IT.

This is a very good and tough little plant as most all spiraeas are. It has a pretty diminutive leaf and holds a good gold color, at least in part sun, but can burn a little in more sun. I grow it in a confined space and cut it back every spring and it's just fine.
