If a tiger lived in the woods of Manchuria and painted stripes in winter, you'd get White Tigress Manchurian Snakebark Maple, a tree as fierce as it is elegant. With its bold green bark marked in vertical silver-white stripes, this rare Snakebark Maple is all about year-round drama. When leafless in winter, the bark glows like an abstract painting, especially on younger branchesmaking it one of the most visually striking trees you can grow for four-season beauty.
Though its origins may be a mystery (likely a hybrid of A. tegmentosum and A. davidii), there's no question that White Tigress Manchurian Snakebark Maple delivers. This fast-growing, multi-stemmed deciduous tree forms a graceful vase-shaped canopy. In spring, racemes of chartreuse flowers drape the branches, followed by lush blue-green foliage that turns a golden yellow with touches of orange in fall. A true chameleon, this tree transitions beautifully across the seasons.
White Tigress Manchurian Snakebark Maple thrives in partial shade, preferring an eastern exposure or woodland edge where it can avoid harsh afternoon sun. It grows well in rich, moist but well-drained soils and is notably more heat-tolerant than other Snakebark Maples. This is the rare ornamental that brings structure, color, and intrigue to your gardenwithout demanding the spotlight. Plant it where the bark can be admired up closeand prepare to be asked, "What is that tree?!"
