Bletilla is easy to grow and adapts to most conditions. Feed once a year with a slow release fertilizer. To give your plant the best start possible, we include free fertilizer with every order.
Divide approximately every four years to promote flowering. Remove seed pods and groom to remove unsightly foliage as needed. Best performance is in consistently moist soil.
In Japan the species is called shi-ran, meaning purple orchid. In China it's known as pai chi. But popular gardening references have named this plant the Chinese ground orchid.
