Flock of Flamingos Beardtongue lives up to its name with a dazzling display of soft, shifting pinks that dance above the garden for months on end. Large, bell-shaped flowers open in vibrant shrimp pink before mellowing into baby pink as they age, creating a layered, multi-toned effect on every spike. The result is a plant that looks dynamic and full even from a distance, delivering nonstop color from mid-summer well into fall.
This clump-forming beardtongue grows quickly into a bold, upright presence with strong stems that hold masses of flowers without flopping. Bumble bees, hummingbirds, and other pollinators flock to the abundant nectar, bringing movement and life into sunny borders and pollinator gardens. Its long bloom season makes it especially valuable for filling the summer color gap when many perennials take a break.
Built for warmth and sun, Flock of Flamingos Beardtongue thrives in heat, humidity, and dry conditions once established. It performs best in full sun with excellent drainage and is especially well suited to southern gardens, though it can be enjoyed as a fast-growing annual in cooler regions. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by, making this Penstemon as practical as it is eye-catching.
