Alan Johnson's Review

Location: Brandon, Mississippi
Hardiness Zone: 7

The tree arrived healthy and has settled in well these past four months despite the intense heat of summer. Along with "Rising Sun," I ordered a "Burgundy Hearts" Redbud and they were shipped together in one long box. When they arrived, I was worried they might be damaged by the look of the box. The trees had their root pouches harnessed at opposite box ends and the tree tops slightly overlapped in the center. In this configuration, the weight is concentrated at the ends, putting pressure on the middle of the box and making it the weak point. By the time the box arrived, the middle had partly collapsed and folded. Both trees suffered some broken branches and lost a number of leaves at their tops (where the box creased), but ultimately looked like they were in decent shape once I got them out of the box. It's possible some jolt or impact during shipping caused the box failure, but regardless, it could have used some reinforcing in the middle. I've ordered six plants from Sooner and all have arrived healthy and looked like they had been well cared for.

Constance Anderson's Review

This tree has been wonderful since day one. It has been in my landscape for a year. Well packed when it arrived and in great shape. Once it was planted and got settled into its new home, the color in the leaves really began to show off. This tree is even more beautifu this year. Great product Sooner. Thanks for caring.

Love this tree!! Just as described. Grows fast. This is my second winter after planting and is still healthy. I love to look out my kitchen window to see the zig zag branches covered in snow. In spring the buds cover the tree. I sit on my patio in summer and admire the beauty of the leaves. I am thinking of planting more.
