Buy Gone With the Wind Prairie Dropseed online. This is a seed strain of the native grass known for its hair-like foliage and mass planting appeal. 'Gone with the Wind' is shorter than the species, but still maintains many of the characteristics that made this type of grass popular. Its short, green foliage is topped by wispy, airy and aromatic tan flower panicles. The plant, as the name suggests, gently sways with the wind, creating unique movement in the garden. Foliage takes on red overtones in late fall. This grass is very heat and drought tolerant because it is deep rooted. It is often planted en masse as a groundcover or as a specimen.

Family: Poaceae · Common Name: Dropseed Grass

Grasses cannot be shipped into Idaho, Oregon, and Utah.

FREE with every plant purchased:

  • The Sooner Guarantee: For details, click here!
  • A pre-applied, pre-measured amount of time release fertilizer that keeps your plant well nourished for up to one year.
  • Pre-hydrated Hydro-Gels are included in the top of each container to use when planting as they help retain soil moisture, and plants will establish more quickly with less transplant shock. Plants will also survive drought-like conditions and accidental missed waterings better.
  • Planting and Care Instruction brochure.
  • Catalogs of new and exciting plant brands, such as Garden Debut® and Proven Winners®.
