Buy Tamukeyama Weeping Japanese Maple online. Tamukeyama maintains its burgundy color in hot humid climates and it resists scorching better than many other laceleafs. It is a vigorous grower with horizontally cascading branches and dark red bark that is covered with a white waxy covering. A fantastic older variety, possibly as old as the 16th century.
Family: Sapindaceae / Aceraceae · Common Name: Maple

TAMUKEYAMA WEEPING JAPANESE MAPLE Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips
Japanese Maples are moderately easy to grow and adapt to most conditions; however, they do prefer to be planted in an area that is well protected from wind, heat exposure, and drought like conditions. Feed once a year with a slow release fertilizer.

I planted one of these 13 years ago on a slope from my stone patio. It is absolutely gorgeous in all seasons. With its cascading nature, it's like a waterfall going down the slope. Would highly recommend this Japanese maple as it's coloration is beautiful, leaves are highly dissected and highly reliable grower. Know though you need space to accommodate mature width.

I have a number of different kinds of Japanese maples from Sooner, and this is my favorite. It is very reliable, gorgeous in all seasons, tolerant of a wide variety of conditions, and does well in total shade. This is always the one I recommend to anyone who wants just one Japanese maple. It's a very old variety too--has stood the test of time.
