Green leaves with white margins emerge in spring, maturing to gray green with cream-colored variegation and variable rose red. Leaves later turn a beautiful red purple in fall. I purchased Acer palmatum 'Butterfly' on May 12, 2010. Sooner Plant Farm knows how to package, ship, and plant their plants. The tree was delivered precisely when Sooner Plant Farm said it would and it arrived in flawless condition. The packaging was first-rate. My son then planted Acer exactly as the enclosed planting instructions specified. As of August 16, 2010, the plant has thrived, adding four branches up to 35 inches in length. As far as I am concerned, Sooner Plant Farm is the ONLY place I'll order plants by mail.
There is no doubt in my mind that this Japanese Maple will be a spectacular addition to my landscape.
