Cornus kousa 'Chinese'

DOGWOOD 'CHINESE'

Chinese Dogwood is vase-shaped in youth, with age, forming a rounded appearance with distinct stratified branching pattern.Leaves are thicker than white dogwood and darker green, almost blue-green in summer, changing to reddish purple to scarlet in fall. Flowers are small and inconspicicuous and start out green turning to white.

Fairly easy to grow, adapts to most conditions prefers some afternoon shade in the south. Feed once a year with a slow release fertilizer.
