Val's Review
Location: Edmonton, AB

It can be challenging to find plants to withstand our climate here in rural Alberta. We have a five year old Wichita Blue juniper that sprang up in the flower garden from seed, and it is now four feet high. This plant is tough and resilient, so we have decided to use junipers instead of cedars along our fence line. Our soil is sandy, dry, and this tree is exposed to winds on a daily basis. I would highly recommend the Wichita Blue juniper if you are looking for a beautiful carefree tree for your landscaping needs.

Wichita Blue Juniper is the most common blue variety of upright Junipers. Wichita Blue has been planted in landscapes for many years and is known for having the bluest foliage of all the upright Junipers. This variety is a fairily fast grower and like most Junipers tolerates drier soil conditions. This is a scopulorum variety and prefers growing in drier climates like New Mexico, Colorado.
