AMERICAN ELM PRINCETON
Princeton American Elm Discovered and selected in 1922 by nurseryman William Flemer for it's aesthetic merits. Princeton Elm was later found to be highly resistant to Dutch Elm disease. A highly desired tree for it's symmetrical upright vase shape,dark green foliage,ultimately forming a broad umbrella crown.

Interesting Notes:
PrincetonElms were planted along Washington Road and another road in Princeton; most of these trees survive to this day [3] unaffected by disease. The cultivar was more recently chosen to replace elms killed by disease along Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House.
