Buy Hearts of Gold Redbud online. It hardly needs a description, as its big, beautiful golden heart-shaped leaves can sell themselves. We could point out that the lavender red flowers in the spring are effective as they are plentiful in each cluster and that the growing tips in the spring take on an orange/red tone which makes a nice contrast to the older, chartreuse-colored leaves. It is also noteworthy that although this plant is predominately yellow in leaf it is not at all lacking in vigor! One's imagination can run wild with the landscape possibilities of this great plant.

Redbud is a fascinating genus of small trees with several species and many varieties and cultivars. Native to the eastern and southern US, Redbuds are scattered throughout the countryside’s and are one of the first trees to flower in early spring, along with Dogwoods. Redbuds require well draining soil even to the point of being rocky. If planted in wet or poorly draining soils the trees will decline in health rather quickly. Best planted high and dry!

I love this tree. In fact, it basically turned an after-thought garden into a point of interest. I've got it planted in a bump out garden on the corner of my house. It is small and semi-weepy. In two years it has grown to about 4'x4'. It does take some minor hits in winter here in Reading, MA, but whatever it loses, it grows right back. Mine has not bloomed flowers in spring yet, but I've got dozens of pollinators in my yard, so I suspect that it will happen soon. My companion plants are buddleia, columbine, niko blue hydrangea, and delphinium.

'Hearts of Gold' Redbud has become one of my favorite flowering trees! I have planted one in the middle of a meadow—actually, a former pasture with large widely-spaced trees—about 150-175 feet from my bedroom window. When in leaf, the 'Hearts of Gold' Redbud is outstanding and makes all the other plants in that meadow disappear. As a side note, I enjoy the flowers as well; they just aren't on the tree as long as the gorgeous leaves!
