Buy Blackgum online. Blackgum is one of the most beautiful trees native to the southern U.S.. It grows somewhat pyramidal when young with densely set branches and some are pendulous; in maturity the numerous spreading and often horizontal branches from an irregularly rounded or flat-topped crown. It has beautiful, thick dark green leaves in summer changing to fluorescent yellow to orange to scarlet to purple colors in fall. Blackgums are known to be dioecious, which means that male and female flowers are produced on separate plants, however, perfect flowers are also produced in each plant that will aid in fruit production. Multiple trees will aid in the production of fruit, and will fill the need of those looking for trees for birds and nature attraction.
