We have one of these in our front yard. It's a fine shade tree, but that is not a good location because of the enormous, golf ball sized acorns. They are produced by the bushel some years. They're a serious hazard anywhere people walk. Every year we have one or more people fall. Be sure to plant somewhere that won't matter.
