Buy Merlot Majik™ Mimosa online. Merlot Majik™ Mimosa only gets happier and darker with the heat and intense light of summer, rather than going green. In southern states it holds the deep merlot color in the foliage better than 'Summer Chocolate'. It produces the same familiar pink flowers as other types of mimosa. Is considered to be a sterile variety.

Family: Fabaceae · Common Name: Mimosa / Silk Tree

Arrived beautiful and in great condition. We'll see how well it gets through the winter.

  2. Hthrleo - Sep 02, 2017

I've had this two seasons now. It arrived in beautiful condition. Over the last two summers it has developed a tendency to sucker below the graft union. Since mimosas are a pretty weedy tree, I expect this to continue to be a problem. I wasn't expecting to have this much maintenance to keep the old fashioned mimosa roots in check and to really have to fight to keep the grafted merlot (which has beautiful color btw) going. It's irritating, but I love the color of the merlot! I think it's worth it. Just don't expect this to be a "plant it and forget it" tree.
