I just discovered this site and love it. I have this plant and it has HUGE flowers and can be seen from the roadside. It is abused by our hot, dry winds, full sun, and in clay soil. It takes abuse and still performs when everything else is wilting or has been eaten by grasshoppers. All it needed was a drink. Plant in a permanent location as it took a tractor to move mine to its new location. Love this plant!

MOY GRANDE HARDY HIBISCUS Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips

Hardy Hibiscus is easy to grow and adapts to most conditions. Remove dead canes in early spring to avoid root rot during the winter. One of the last plants to break dormancy in spring, and can stay dormant into early summer. Feed once a year with a slow release fertilizer.
