Jesus IS Our Savior

Sooner Plant Farm is a Christian company. We believe whole heartedly in serving our Lord Jesus Christ the best way we know how, by following his ways and sharing his truth and love with everyone we possibly can.

If you have not developed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I strongly urge you to ask him to come into your heart, become your Lord and Savior, and lead and guide you in his ways. You won’t regret it!

Who Am I?

Why Am I Here?

What Is My Purpose?

Have you ever contemplated these questions?

Before my salvation, I was a normal hard-working person trying to accomplish and get all I could from life. I was a perfectionist and expected perfection from others. In my view, expecting perfection was helping others become better people. I have come to realize that I was only doing harm.

You see, it is not our job to fix others, or try to change people to become what we think they should be, nor are we even capable of such. That is God’s job. He created us and He is the only one capable of fixing us. I had a problem accepting other people’s faults. I now know the only way to fix this problem is for me to do the changing. I must be more understanding and accepting, to love others as they are, and to pray that God will work in their life, just as He has in mine.

In September 2008, after 19 years of marriage, I found myself divorced and living a life that is all too normal in today's society. My family was destroyed by unknowing human selfishness. The sad thing is, I did not know I was doing anything wrong. The truth is, God was not in any of our lives, because of my selfish attitude and thinking I could do this all myself.

In November 2008, two very important people came into my life. They were relatives that needed a place to park a trailer to live in until their new home was built. They stayed about 3 months, and I must assume I was in many of their prayers during that stay. They knew God was the only one that could fix my problems and I know now their prayers opened my eyes to see God and all my faults.

It wasn't long before I noticed they were somehow different than myself and everyone I knew.  They were different in a good way, a peaceful and loving way. It was not long before I desired and needed as much of that kind of life as I could get. This was a 180 degree turn from how I had been living. For someone so confident for so long, I started to question everything about myself. With a little support and guidance from my new neighbors, I asked Jesus Christ to come into my life and become my Lord and Savior. Immediately God began to work and reveal layers of clutter from years of doing things my own way. He also revealed my faults and began making changes within me that I was not capable of making myself. We all have clutter and junk in our lives, things that need fixing, things to get over, or fences to mend. To grow in life, these stumbling blocks must be dealt with and cleaned up. The reason we don’t deal with them ourselves is we don’t know how, or even where to start. Believe me, this is where God does His best work!

When I was young, I was told always to be a leader, not a follower. As much as this statement was meant for good, it was missing one important part: we all will follow something. How great that statement would have been if it included God, to follow God’s ways and be a real leader!

As I now walk a path with God, he brings to my attention things that I should or should not do, and what is pleasing to Him. Believe me, if you ask God to point out your flaws, he will, and most of the time before you can say “Amen”. The best part is God will help you fix those flaws and become the person you know you should be.

God has done so many amazing things in my life in such a short amount of time; and the most amazing is how much he has changed everything about me. So, if you think it is others that need to change to make you happy, you need to talk to God about that.

Some changes are hard to accept, they can hurt our pride. The scariest thing about change is “What others will say or think?” Some will say “You never used to do that,” “You don’t really mean it,” and my favorite, “I know you, and that is not you.” Facing that kind of ridicule can be scary for anyone.

But if the changes you make are positive ones and ultimately result in growing in God’s kingdom, you will never regret your changes. The people you were most worried about seeing you change will wish they could be as strong.

To me the essence of life is change. If we are not changing, we are not growing and we are not receiving all in life that God has for us. It is obvious that God intended everything on earth to change and he has given everything he has created the ability to show his beauty through changing. Seeds change into flowers, drops of water into snowflakes, ugly caterpillars that eat my plants turn into beautiful butterflies. He gives us the ability to change our hearts to reflect his love and beauty.

This is where John 3:16 comes in:

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life.” - John 3:16

God loves us more than any human has the ability too. He proved this by accepting the blood of his only son Jesus Christ who was crucified on a cross as payment for the debt owed by each of us for our sins from yesterday, today and forever.

Because we are sinners we are separated from God because of those sins.

God has and will always have our best interests in mind and will never lead us down the wrong path. All we have to do is believe and ask for Him to come into our life. If you don’t ask him, you will not see him. God desires to be first in all of our lives, but it is up to us to let him in. When I see others struggle who are in need of God's love and forgiveness, it breaks my heart to see them deny him, because they are afraid of change.

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." - Revelation 3:20 KJV

I had a PE teacher tell me I could not win because I was afraid to change. That statement has always stuck with me, and I now believe it is true. If you want to win you must make and accept changes!

By walking daily with God, he helps us identify the changes we need to make. He helps us through those changes, and he then puts those changes to good use.

God gives us the chance to make the ultimate change, which is the exchange of eternal hell after our death because of our sins for eternal life with him in heaven because of Jesus. There is nothing we as humans can do make to make that change, it is only obtainable by accepting the gift of salvation from God through his son, Jesus Christ.

Begin by asking God to help you make the changes in your life that will glorify him. By doing so, you will begin today enjoying your new eternal life in God's Kingdom.

So, who am I, why am I here, and what is my purpose?

I’m one of God’s precious children, I’m here because God wants to show how wonderfully creative and loving he is, and I’m here to glorify God!

Let’s pray:

Dear God, I know it is my flaws and my resistance to change that keeps me from receiving all the wonderful blessings you have waiting for me.

Dear God, please reveal my flaws and bless me with the strength and wisdom necessary to make the changes in my life that you want for me. God please help me through those changes and lead me to be the entire person you created me to be.

I love you, and I ask for this blessing in your precious son Jesus’s name. Amen.

If you would like Jesus Christ to come into your life:

You must proclaim Him as your Lord and Savior.

Confess you are a sinner and need forgiveness.

Speak with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God and he sacfaficed his life by dying on a cross for your sins.

Ask Him to forgive you, guide and direct your life.

Thank Him for giving you eternal life in heaven with Him.

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved!

“For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” - Romans 10:9-10

“But to all who believe in Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God.” - John 1:12

If you would like to learn more about God’s written Word to us, The Holy Bible, I recommend the Blue Letter Bible website. Also, God wants all believers to be active and share his truth. I recommend finding a Bible believing, Christian church in your area for support and guidance in your walk with Jesus Christ.

If this is all new to you, as it was with myself, feel free to contact me by email and I will be happy to share, pray and help guide you as I can. Becoming a Christian does not mean you are expected to become a perfect person! What it means is that you now know and realize you are a sinner, and cannot have a relationship with God, outside of having a personal relationship Jesus Christ.

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." - John 14:6 KJV
